Director, Vodafone Foundation

Andrew is Director of the Vodafone Foundation and was previously a Ministerial Adviser to the Sustainable Development Unit at the UK Department of Trade and Industry. Andrew has worked in government, philanthropy, public affairs and community investment working with organisations such as the BBC, the Commission for Racial Equality and Thames Water.

During his time at Vodafone, Andrew has transformed Vodafone Foundation’s $1 billion programme from its historic grant making approach, to combining giving and technology to innovate – co-creating award-winning scalable, sustainable programmes such as Instant Network, Instant Classroom and TecSoS. He is a regular fundraiser having cycled Land’s End to John O’Groats twice for charity, led campaigns with Vodafone employees which have raised in excess of £8 million, and his team created JustTextgiving, the first free text giving platform which enabled £50 million to be raised for good causes.

Andrew is an Associate of Cambridge University Judge Business School where he lectures regularly, a Trustee of the M-Pesa Foundation (Kenya), was appointed by the Prime Minister as a member of the UK Government's Longitude Committee, and is a member of NESTA’s Prizes Committee.
